Privacy Policy | Popstar AI
Effective from 13 October 2026.
1. Overview
Popstar AI is a web tool at popstarai.video (the "Service"). You upload one photo, and an AI video model puts you into the role Justin Bieber plays in the 2020 DJ Khaled and Drake music video "POPSTAR", returning a vertical 9:16 or wide 16:9 MP4. This Privacy Policy explains which personal information passes through that process, what we do with it, who else receives it and how it is safeguarded.
2. What Data Is Involved
What we hold about you depends on how far you take the Service. The main groups are:
- Account details: name, email address, sign-in identifiers, profile fields, saved preferences and session data.
- Photos and videos: the photo you submit, the rendering options you choose, each finished MP4, the status of every job and the timestamps. Finished videos are stored in the My Creations area of your account.
- Purchases and credits: the credit pack or monthly or annual subscription you chose, your credit balance, order references, the outcome of each charge, your billing email, invoices, renewal status and limited payment metadata. Card numbers go straight to the third-party payment processor and never reach our servers.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device and operating system, pages visited, request times, error reports, performance figures and signals that help us detect abuse.
- Messages to us: support requests, content reports, privacy requests, feedback and any replies in the same thread.
- Cookies and similar storage: what keeps you logged in, protects your session and makes essential features function.
3. Why We Use It
We process your information in order to:
- Operate the video generator, your account, My Creations, credits and subscriptions
- Verify who you are at sign-in, keep your session alive and help you regain access to a locked account
- Pass your photo to the AI video provider that renders your clip, then hand the result back to you
- Process checkouts, add or spend credits, return credits when a render fails or is blocked by a safety filter, send invoices and handle cancellations or refunds
- Detect prohibited content, fraud, security events and abuse of the Service
- Investigate failed renders, watch page speed and improve the product with aggregate usage counts
- Reply to support, content, legal and privacy enquiries
- Meet our legal duties and enforce our Terms of Service
The legal basis varies by where you live. It may be performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a secure service, a legal obligation, or your consent where the law demands it.
4. Your Photo and the Videos It Produces
The photo you upload is used for one purpose, which is to be the visual reference for the video you ask for. To produce the video, the photo is sent to third-party AI video generation providers, together with the hosting, storage and safety services around them, and those providers render the clip. Safety systems may inspect the photo and the finished video to catch prohibited material.
We do not build facial-recognition templates from your photo, and we do not use it to work out who someone is. Upload only a photo that you own or have the right to use. Do not upload photos of celebrities or other public figures, photos of anyone under 18, photos intended to impersonate or mislead, or any personal data you have no right to share.
Popstar AI is an independent fan tool. It has no connection to DJ Khaled, Drake, Justin Bieber, Neymar or any of their labels, and the song and music video remain the property of their respective owners.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Essential cookies or similar storage are used to keep you signed in, defend your account and run the core generator. For traffic statistics we use Plausible, a cookie-free analytics service that counts visits without following individuals across sites. If we ever add non-essential tools that the law says need your consent, we will request it before turning them on.
You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will normally sign you out and stop the generator from working.
6. Who Receives Your Information
Personal information is never sold by us. It goes only to the following recipients, and only to the extent needed:
- AI video generation and safety providers that receive your photo and the rendering request so they can create and screen your clip
- Hosting and storage providers that run the site and keep uploaded photos and finished videos
- The payment processor that collects payment for credit packs and subscriptions and handles refunds, fraud screening and tax or billing obligations, as named at checkout
- Email, sign-in, monitoring and support providers, including Cloudflare Email, which we use to send messages such as receipts and account notices
- Public authorities or other third parties where a law or legal process requires disclosure, or where we honestly believe disclosure is needed to protect users, rights, safety or the integrity of the Service
- A successor owner, if the Service is merged, acquired, financed, reorganized or sold, with suitable safeguards
Every provider is bound by contract to use the data only for the task it was engaged for and to keep it confidential and secure.
7. How Long We Keep Data
Information is retained only for as long as is reasonably required to run the Service, preserve your My Creations history, keep things secure, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and satisfy legal, tax, accounting or regulatory rules.
- Account data and your photos and videos may be kept while your account is open or while your history remains enabled.
- Uploaded photos and finished videos may remain in your history, or in the storage needed to deliver them to you.
- Billing and transaction records are kept for as long as tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention and dispute rules demand.
- Security logs and support records are kept for a reasonable period driven by operational and legal need.
When a deletion or account-closure request has been verified, eligible personal data is erased or de-identified within 30 calendar days. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 further days, and are then overwritten as the backup cycle rolls forward. Some records may last beyond those periods if they are required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, chargebacks, dispute resolution or the defence of legal claims.
8. Rights You Can Exercise
Depending on local law, you may be entitled to some or all of the following:
- Learn which categories of personal data we collect, what we do with them and who receives them
- See your personal data or get a copy
- Fix account details that are wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to erase personal data that qualifies and to close your account
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Get certain data back in a portable, machine-readable form
- Withdraw consent that you previously gave
- Opt out of marketing email, while still receiving receipts and security notices
- File a complaint with the privacy regulator in your country or region
Making a request
Email support@popstarai.video from the address registered to your account, with the subject line Privacy Request or Account Deletion Request. State whether you are asking for access, correction, export, restriction, objection, closure or deletion, and identify the account or data involved.
To avoid handing over or erasing the wrong person's data, we may ask for reasonable proof of identity. Eligible requests are acknowledged and completed within 30 calendar days of receipt. If the law lets us take longer because a request is complex, we will tell you why and give a fresh completion date. Your name and some other profile fields can be changed directly in Settings.
Deleting your account does not erase payment, security, fraud and dispute records that the law obliges us, or that we have a legitimate need, to retain in order to protect the Service and its users.
9. Cross-Border Processing
The Service and its providers may handle information in countries other than the one you live in. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by safeguards such as contractual clauses, recognised adequacy mechanisms and access controls.
10. Security Measures
Reasonable technical and organizational protections are in place, including encrypted connections, access controls, credential protection, logging and, where suitable, content-safety and anti-abuse screening. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Should a personal-data incident occur that we are legally required to disclose, affected users and the competent authorities will be told within the legal deadline.
11. Minors
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly gather no personal information from them. Any higher minimum age set by the law that governs you also applies. Photos of minors must not be uploaded. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and erase eligible data.
12. Links to Other Services
The Service may link to or connect with outside services, such as social platforms where you share your video. Those services follow their own privacy policies, and this one does not extend to data they gather on their own.
13. Updates to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be revised when the Service, our providers or the law change. The new text will appear on this page with a fresh date at the top, and where the law requires, we will give further notice of significant changes.
14. Contact
